The MassHire Metro North Workforce Board (MNWB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop partnerships, generate resources, and advocate for workforce solutions that result in a skilled workforce, prospering businesses, and equitable access to meaningful career pathways and quality employment for residents. The MNWB is one of 16 local Workforce Development Boards established in Massachusetts covering 20 cities and towns north of Boston. The functions of MNWB include the following:
- Addressing business’ workforce needs through strategic partnership building
- Coordinating local workforce activities with economic development strategies
- Developing industry-specific consortia focusing on strategic planning and implementation
- Establishing workforce development policy for the region
- Chartering career center operators and overseeing career centers
- Matching the needs of business for skilled employees with training opportunities in the area
- Assessing the effectiveness of the local workforce system
- Administering federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds for the region

JOB TITLE: Data Project Coordinator
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Data Project Coordinator is a new role at MNWB responsible for 1) developing labor market information (LMI) resources for the Metro North community and 2) serving as the system administrator for the MNWB Salesforce database.
The Data Project Coordinator advances MNWB’s mission and strategic plan through data analysis of LMI which includes tracking and identifying trends in industries, occupations, wages, and employers. This position will be responsible for developing quarterly LMI reports for job-seekers and preparing customized responses to community partners for LMI requests. The role will also provide research and data support to MNWB’s grants team.
The Data Project Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Director of Strategy and Impact to transition the organization to Salesforce and promote Salesforce adoption through user training. This role will be trained to serve as the administrator of the MNWB Salesforce database, including the creation and maintenance of workflows, custom fields, reports, dashboard development, and data flow management. The Data Project Coordinator will help identify opportunities to improve MNWB data systems and assist with overall database management.
This position is part of a five-member strategy team, with the Senior Director of Strategy and Impact, the Manager of Strategic Initiatives, the Director of Employer Partnerships, and the Communications Coordinator that oversees the processes for tracking the clients we serve through our programs and communicating our collective impact.
This is a great opportunity for professionals who want to gain experience in data analysis for an organization dedicated to improving economic self-sufficiency for all. Although the selected candidate will be able to choose in-office, hybrid, or remote work arrangements, this position will need to attend monthly in-person meetings at our office in Somerville. The position reports to the Senior Director of Strategy and Impact. Local Metro North candidates preferred.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Labor Market Information:
- Point of contact at organization for labor market information requests from community partners.
- Run reports, analyze data, extract trends, create data visualizations, and present findings as requested by external partners and stakeholders
- Stay current with labor market tools, i.e. Lightcast, Burning Glass, EconoVue, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census.gov, MA’s Department of Economic Research, etc and maintain internal LMI Data matrix
- Create content for quarterly labor market information reports for jobseekers in collaboration with Communications Coordinator
- Maintain relationships with trainers at Lightcast, EconoVue, Dep of Economic Research, etc.
- Craft LMI content for website, newsletters and social media channels in collaboration with Communications Coordinator
- Represent MNWB in external settings, and serve a workforce data analysis resource for partner organizations
- Provide technical assistance and support to other staff members on LMI and data
Salesforce:
- Serve as primary administrator for Salesforce, including data cleanup and validation as well as developing policies, procedures, and protocols that maintain the accuracy of MNWB’s data.
- Serve as the primary Salesforce support contact for MNWB staff. Administer Salesforce user accounts and profiles, including setting account creation and deactivation protocols.
- Design, manage and deploy Salesforce customizations, including flows and custom fields.
- Build and deploy dashboards and reports and train users to develop their own reports and dashboards.
- Administer and support connected Salesforce applications, including Form Assembly.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of organization’s data; assess and propose changes when needed.
- Conduct staff training, including on-boarding of new team members to Salesforce.
- Train and consult with MNWB staff on reporting, data management, and effective processes
- Assist in building a data culture that embraces data-driven reflection and decision-making
Strategic Plan:
- Oversee the development and implementation of the performance, data, and evaluation components of the organization’s strategic plan.
- Work with Strategy Team to write content and edit MNWB’s Annual Report.
- Work with grants team to review and provide support materials for grant proposals.
- Manage grant opportunities and correspondence with funders in Salesforce and Neon.
Other:
- Perform administrative duties as assigned
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A confident data analyst who is comfortable distilling complex datasets into engaging and accessible content
- A creative mind and a keen interest in learning Salesforce
- Experience with data collection, management, analysis or research report production
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively present ideas and complex research insights, using a variety of mediums including Powerpoint presentations and data visualizations
- Comfortable with public speaking and meeting facilitation
- Desire to work as part of a team, including group reflection, receiving and giving feedback and honoring the strengths/passions of all team members.
- Has a deep personal and professional commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The most qualified candidates might have experience with:
- Labor market and/or education data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with Emsi, Burning Glass, and EconoVue.
- Familiarity with PowerBI
- Salesforce or other similar CRM software.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Starting salary $57,222 – $62,944 per year. Excellent benefits including health care, dental, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, 403(b) retirement plan, holiday, sick and vacation time, parental leave, and flexible work arrangements.
