SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CONTROLLER, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to provide comprehensive administrative support to and serve as extension of the controller. Responsibilities include calendar management; researching and writing memos, letters, and reports; creating file systems; dealing with and resolving complex problems; functioning as a high-level individual contributor on multiple projects; creating and maintaining procedures for own work area; planning and coordinating special events or projects; serving on VPF’s administrative team and regularly helping cover the reception desk; and performing related duties as requested. Will be expected to develop comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the department’s goals, policies, and practices and MIT’s organization and mission.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years’ administrative, office, or related experience; ability to work proactively, function autonomously, and direct own work; ability to recognize, anticipate, and meet the administrative needs of the controller; awareness of organizational dynamics; in-depth understanding of purpose and operations across VPF and MIT; strong proofreading and written and oral communication skills, including attention to grammar; excellent interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with a diverse group of colleagues at all levels; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to solve problems and work independently and across functions; precision when handling data, charts, and reports; ability to collaborate with others across VPF to implement new initiatives and resolve issues; discretion, tact, and good judgment with confidential information; and ability to use advanced features of standard office software and identify and quickly learn new applications as necessary. Hourly rate range: $25.59-33.27
