COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, Human Resources, to work with the director and communications team to plan, implement, and measure HR’s strategic communications, including 50% time on communications focused on MIT’s benefits. Will work with the director of communications to implement a creative content strategy, including serving as primary writer and editor for a regular cadence of HR-related content for MIT Campus News and the HR website; serve as a resource for HR functional groups for writing, editing, proofreading, and other communications needs; provide support for various HR communications vehicles, such as the internal website, newsletters, and the public-facing HR website; and own HR’s Twitter account and any additional social media channels that may be added. 

 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; at least five years of strategic communications experience, with a focus on content creation, digital communications, and project management; excellent written and oral communication skills; precise and efficient editing and proofreading skills; ability to complete projects at a high standard on a short timeline; up-to-date knowledge of digital communications technology, monitoring, and metrics; solid understanding of current trends in online initiatives; high-level proficiency with communications and event software (e.g., Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey, and Eventbrite), and content management systems (e.g., Drupal); high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite; experience managing projects independently, prioritizing multiple work assignments, and meeting deadlines; experience working with contractors/outside vendors on content and design projects; experience supporting and encouraging correct use of visual and editorial style guides; ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to work collaboratively across all organizational units; and discretion and judgment with sensitive information and/or issues.   Job #22434-8

This position has flexible, hybrid work arrangements. Must be available for in-person quarterly HR meetings.
