Job Description
GIFT OPERATIONS ASSISTANT, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to provide support in the Office of the Recording Secretary on services that ensure the timely processing of gifts to the Institute. Will focus on functions related to maintaining the integrity of all relevant gift processing data and maintaining the institutional documentation associated with gift operations, including adding new records and updating databases, processing gifts and pledges to MIT, conducting basic research, and reporting on and reconciling data issues. Will also provide light administrative support to the director of gift administration and recording secretary.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent (bachelor's degree preferred); at least three years of administrative experience in an office setting, preferably in a nonprofit or finance environment; demonstrated knowledge of and experience using business management databases; proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; experience providing excellent customer service; strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; and ability to learn tasks quickly. PREFERRED: bachelor's degree; experience with financial or fundraising databases; proficiency with SAP, FileMaker Pro, and Apple products; experience with Outlook calendaring software; familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance gift system or similar fundraising database; knowledge of MIT policies, procedures, and operational systems; and an interest in fundraising and/or finance and accounting. Salary range: $22.37 - 28.85/hr.
Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak processing seasons at calendar year-end (mid-December to mid-January) and fiscal year-end (late June to early July).
